As of January 1,
2009 the FTSRL will be moving
ALL of its activities to the
RacingTexas league.
RacingTexas (www.racingtexas.com)
is an online racing league that
runs organized racing events on
both NR2003 and ARCA Sim
platforms.
All registered
FTSRL drivers have been
pre-approved for access to
RacingTexas, provided that they:
-
Sign-up at
www.racingtexas.com;
-
Register on
the RacingTexas forum (link
is on their website);
-
Read the
sticky forum topics under
the General forum category
and accept the terms set
forth.
The plan, as
agreed on by RacingTexas
officials and FTSRL officials
will be for the two leagues to
combine under the RacingTexas
banner. Chuck Chamblee
will assume the duties and
responsibilities of admin of the
Wednesday night Late Model
divisions and series.
Wednesday night's
activities will run for most of
the year, beginning in February
with a 12-week Pro Late Model
Series schedule. The PLM
Series will feature fixed setup
racing with driving aids
optional, running on the ASA1990
Late Model (CTS physics) mod.
In May, Wednesday
nights will switch gears and
begin running a 12-week Super
Late Model Series schedule.
The SLM Series will feature
fixed setup racing in HARDCORE
mode (no driving aids allowed),
running on the LMPv2 mod.
Then in August,
we'll switch to the OutlawsGNS
Late Model mod to begin the 9th
annual Huntsville Speedway
Challenge Series. This
will be an eight-week schedule,
featuring for the first time in
its history the Outlaw Late
Models. The 9th annual
HSCS will run OPEN setups and
Hardcore (no driving aids), with
visuals optional.
Finally, in
October will be the 3rd annual
Music City 400, featuring a
three-week "SpeedWeeks"
schedule, beginning with LIVE
qualifying the first week, a
200-lap Pro Late Model feature
the second week, and ending with
a 200-lap Super Late Model
feature the third week.
Both 200 lappers will be webcast
live on RLM-TV. Racers, if
you've never participated in a
live qualifying session, then
you're in for a real treat.
More information on this special
event later in the year.
2009 promises to
be an exciting racing season, as
we embark on this journey to the
RacingTexas league. All
FTSRL racers are hereby asked to
go to the RacingTexas website
and immediately and sign-up.
In the "Referred By" box on the
sign-up form, please indicate
that you were referred by the
FTSRL. We need to get this
process done quickly so that we
will be all set to go racing by
February.
